Final Fantasy XIII Release Date

2009,November,13
Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy XIII will be release on March 9, 2010 in North America and Europe, less then 3 months after its release in Japan. This is a first for the Final Fantasy series, not only because of how quick it is being released, but because the NA and EU versions are being released simultaneously.
While in Europe Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy, told VideoGamer.com
"Obviously we would like to release it over here [in Europe] as soon as possible. Traditionally the Final Fantasy numbered series, it takes about half a year between the release in Japan and the release in North America, and another half a year before it's released in Europe. But we would like to minimise this, this time."
At the time of that interview the english voices were being recorded aswell as text being translated, another first. Normally they wait for the Japanese release before translating.

"We know that our fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installation of the franchise -- FINAL FANTASY XIII will exceed all expectations. Coming simultaneously to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for the first time, FINAL FANTASY XIII will be available to all players who are looking for the most immersive gaming experience of 2010."

- John Yamamoto, president, chief executive officer of Square Enix

Final Fantasy XIII Theme Song

2009,November,13
It might seem a little odd but Leona Lewis' song, My Hands has been chosen as the theme for the EU and NA FFXIII. Nobuo Uematsu, who has done the music for Final Fantasy, has only been hired to do the japanese theme called "Kimi Ga Iru Kara". John Yamamoto however assures us that the song fits the theme of FFXIII. Have a listern and decide for yourself.
